What to clarify when you book an onsite IT technician

Make arrangements and provide information

  • Is there unrestricted internet access at the disposal of the IT technician?
  • Are necessary tools already onsite and is there a need for devices and other equipment to remain in the facility?
  • Is there a point of contact while tasks are being completed?
  • Is there a point of contact onsite?
  • Does the completion of the task rely on a remote party?
  • Where is the entrance area?
  • Is accessing the site during out-of-office hours subject to pre-approval?
  • How to access to exact location (e.g. access key to the server room)?
  • Can you provide a network diagram or other useful documentation?
  • In case of construction sites: is the electrical installation onsite suitable and available for the operation of IT equipment as well as the number of devices and their power consumption?
  • Is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) available?
  • Where are equipment and peripherals such as power supply cables stored?
  • Is there an unrestricted connection to the internet available at the exact location (e.g. server room)?
  • Are there heavy lifting requirements that could require the presence of a second person?
  • Are there specific technical requirements (e.g. cables or connectors)?
